Paige Martin Reynolds’s son beloved bags: purses, diaper luggage, suitcases, reusable grocery bags, backpacks. He also loved packing luggage, filling them with anything at all that intrigued him: paperwork, develop, jewelry, juice containers, coasters, cash.

This penchant for packing — and unpacking — bags induced domestic objects to seem in unpredictable locations (a spatula in the toilet, for occasion). And nevertheless Ms. Reynolds was often annoyed by her home’s dysfunction, she also uncovered it worthwhile.
